It’s been a while since Shreya forced me into a sort of formal romantic arrangement with her. Some people are already calling it a marriage. What can one say about rumours and Shreya’s legs, they spread fast with respect to me.
Tgis post is more about the wedding and less about our union. Organizing a wedding is nothing less than intense project management albeit with a lot more at stake – parivaar, parampara, anushashan, and what not.
The uphill battles we fought:
– A full vegan spread barring the tea and coffee
– No gifts or envelopes exchanged hands
– No regressive customs, We got a female priest to ensure this (hopefully)
– Tried to minimise our impact on the planet – plastics, food waste, and more that I’ll write about shortly
– Kept families out of it, almost completely, to ensure the two of us can enjoy the planning process, and not be stressed throughout (tried to)
Of course, this may sound like we did this all alone, and there would be nothing farther than the truth. My cuties, Anisha and Shruti that now run @twobytwo.in know better. They stood by us through thick and thin, more importantly, they managed to tolerate my unreasonable demands and tantrums, and helped deliver a wedding that Shreya and I, and our loved ones took back a lot of memories from.
I cannot write enough about the importance of having the right planners and vendors in this process. I owe them for all that went right.
This will be one of the most beautiful mistakes of my life. And I’m sure there are many more weddings in store for both, Shreya and I.
Many more posts to come because @thebombay has charged us a lot of money.
